There's no justification for it. Even if I don't spend a dime myself doesn't mean it's not sick that I paid for this game and every expansion pass and still have items blocked off from me.
It doesn't matter what items your selling.
It doesn't matter how cheap they are.
You're taking advantage of people and it's wrong. It's not a debate.
-
Taking advantage when it's their choice? Lol did your mom buy destiny for you but won't let you get some emotes now? Piss off
-
The items aren't necessary, they are not required. You don't need to buy them, and they are purely for fun. They are completely cosmetic and affect the main game in no way whatsoever.
-
A commercial company selling stuff. Geez, the time we live in.
-
Tell that to GTA whilst they're playing all the DLC for FREE!
-
I'm starting to hate Activision. They're turning into EA day by day
-
This isn't a normal 60$ game
-
Excuse me? This is a $140 game, thank you very much (or at least that's what I've paid into it, and that's all I'll be paying into it."
-
The thing is, this isn't a $60 game anymore. It hasn't been since the Dark Below came out. This game is changing as it goes along to try and figure out the best solution. If you don't buy an expansion you shouldn't expect to be able to reach the new level cap since you did not buy it. If anyone locked you out of something, it's yourself and you did it simply by not buying the DLC. Since you didn't, now you don't have a nightfall when its a new DLC nightfall, and you don't have access to what the rest of us paid for.

Neither do people like you.
-
Evolve did this and it didn't go very well; but we'll wait and see.
-
Ffxiv a realm reborn does the same thing. You pay a subscription and there are micro transactions for vanity items. It's rather popular in most mmos. I don't see this as that big a deal tbh
-
Guild Wars 2, great game. Great microtransaction model. Great free content from a live team.
-
Items blocked off from you? Eververse wasn't announced yet when you bought TTK, hence you didn't pay for whatever content will be made available through it. Now that it's announced, we know they are vanity items. It won't affect your game play, nor the TTK content that you paid for. They're entirely optional. If you wanna get an Emote, then fork the money over to purchase it. If you DIDN'T want to buy, then that's fine too lol. It's not that hard of a concept to understand seriously.
-
It's not a debate.
Well... Unless somebody died and made you the supreme overlord of right and wrong, I'd say it is clearly a debate since plenty of people don't give a shit.
-
The fact that you refuse to listen to other people's arguments proves your ignorance. You sound like the people who think because they were loyal day one players, DLC should be free. Please remove yourself from this game, as you sound like an ass. "Wahhh, I bought TTK expansion, but I can't have a dance move" "Wahh Bungie ripped me off" I'm sure if you do all your chorea, mom and dad will give you a little extra cash to buy some silver and have your worthless dance moves.
shhh no one can hear you
The reality of the situation, whether you want to accept it or not, is this: $60 for a game isn't enough. Development budgets have skyrocketed over the past ten or fifteen years and the price of games has stayed the same, so instead of jacking up the price to $80 or even $100 standard, you can buy DLC. Which do you prefer? Because you'll bitch about both, but you'll also bitch when the inevitable collapse of the video game industry happens and you have no more games to play. Video game prices need to go up to match inflation and the increasing costs to make them or the business can't sustain itself. It's reality. DLC and other after-purchase revenue streams are the only thing keeping video games afloat right now. Huff and puff all you want, it's the reality of the business.

The gaming industry is changing. You are witnessing it, and there is probably not much you can do besides voting with your wallet. ~TheSpookyNike
-
Uh, have you played ESO? Destiny is not the first or last game to do this.
-
Microtrans have always been in paid games. Guild Wars has it. WoW has it. Battlefield has it. Call of Duty has it. That's 2 big mmos, and 2 big fps as examples for ya. These new transactions are tame in comparison to those games. Personally, I will buy an emote if they have a sarcastic slow clap.
-
http://kotaku.com/sources-destiny-will-get-paid-cosmetic-dlc-and-free-ne-1734800399 It's changing Destiny's business model. The smaller DLC's will end up free due to cosmetic micro transactions. Next, you expect Bungie to pay their employees to develop new stuff like emotes and give them out for free? Seriously? Are you ok for you to go to your job and work for free? Bungie is a business. They create a product to sell and to make a profit.

If I buy a new truck from ford and then they come out with new accessories for my new truck do I stop driving my new truck because ford won't give me shit for free?
-
We’ll be dropping some free Silver into your account so you can purchase an emote or two and become legend through the power of dance.
-
If you were being forced to pay to unlock content you already paid for then I would see your point.
