There's no justification for it. Even if I don't spend a dime myself doesn't mean it's not sick that I paid for this game and every expansion pass and still have items blocked off from me.
It doesn't matter what items your selling.
It doesn't matter how cheap they are.
You're taking advantage of people and it's wrong. It's not a debate.
-
If they are going to give me content that matters for free by selling useless content to others, the hell yes. Bring it on.
-
GTA V/O micro transactions from the release of GTAO. players can purchase GTA$ with cash allowing them to purchase anything unlocked at current level. I'm 2 years Rockstar has added: -Heist -co-op/vs. game modes -DM/Capture creator -Freeroam activities -video editor they've also double the purchasable vehicles, tripled the amount of properties you could own. they've also made it snow and given us fireworks to celebrate whatever we like. cost to the player: $60
-
It's not breaking the game. You don't have to buy anything. Future content will come from the monies gained from this, or so they loosely stated. So, put on your big girl panties and try to have some dignity, will ya? Crying on the forums for a two dollar emote just makes you seem cheap and fiscally irresponsible.
-
It's a debate simply because there are people that disagree with you. You telling people otherwise, doesn't make it less of a debate.
-
Is gta v a micro transaction game?
-
It does matter what they sell. If someone wants to buy an emote, how are they getting ripped off? They wanted it. Do you honestly hate not feeling that unique that no-one can have a dance you don't have. Like, really? If someone feels like an emote was worth $10, let them enjoy it.
-
Everything is open for debate if one person feels differently. While you may feel it's wrong someone may be happy about it or others like me that don't care and if it's something cool might get it.
-
How about you guys stop complaining. If you want the items, buy, if you do not want them, do not buy. I'm assuming each of you individuals have enough competency to make a choice. Stop complaining.

Edited by Paramortal21: 10/7/2015 6:28:42 PMI think we can all agree that if they start selling weapons and armor, then it would be justified to throw out the game. There's plenty of great games coming out this fall to replace Destiny should they decide to pull something like that. But until then, there's nothing wrong with selling cosmetics. If you have a problem with that because you're a perfectionist that needs to have everything and has to 100% every game, that's your problem. But you can't drag a game down over that "completionist" attitude.
-
Tell that to EA
-
And yet while other pay for such small things, you continue to get essentially free content... So yeah I can see how it's definitely gonna be the worst thing in the world...

Agreed
-
I'll gladly support the things I like. If that means free dlc then I'm all for it.
-
Every game is a $60 game. You can choose to not pay for it if you want.
-
Stupid people don't belong on a game's forums
-
Then don't buy them.. Problem solved!
-
Have you read the Kotaku article on Destiny Micro-transactions? No? Well the plan is to fund future DLC content using the profits from the transactions. You might ask how that effects me. Well the answer is that it effects everyone. Bungie are planing to do free DLC for everyone using the funding from the micro transactions. No-one is asking you to buy any of these things, but I know as a fan of this game, I will invest some of my money in funding future content from myself and the community. Its only taking advantage when they start charging for non-cosmetic items like armour and weapons, ghost shells and artifacts. Then it becomes pay to win, and I will never support a pay to win model for any game. Either charge for the game, dlc or have a subscription service.

Call of duty Gears of war Assassins creed Dying light Just the ones off the top of my head, there are a shit ton more

I would agree with you, but unfortunately that is how Activision and EA have always been. If there is opportunity to make more money from minuet transactions they will lead the charge. That's like expecting bias people to make unbiased decisions. However in your defense Destiny does seem to have a large bit of content cut from its original game, and though these micro transactions are only emotes they do help fund the idea that Activision can continue this trend into more desirable products the public might want.
-
You have been able to purchase epic cosmetics in WOW for years now. Activision is behind Blizzard much like it is for Bungie. But you cannot buy anything that will actually give you a leg up on other players at the same level. Unless having a magic motorcycle that runs on demon fumes actually MAKES you a better player. I disagree. Truth is, no one cares what you rode in on if you can't play the game.
-
Edited by Fruitybamboo: 10/7/2015 5:55:31 PMYou do know they will be releasing free dlc until Destiny 2 (Fall 2016)... There is a reason why they are coming out with micro transactions for EMOTES... It's so they can get money to cover their costs of making the game.
-
Yet cod and bf have been doing this for years.
-
-
pointless emote. they have not taken advantage of any one that buys one. Its the buyers choice. Cause they serve no purpose to the game. If they sell gear someday.....well thatll ruin the game. How dare anybody try to make money
