I see comments about free future content with the introduction to microtransaction.
I smell load of bs. Bungie would never give anything for free in the future, especially now. They seems to enjoy the bath tub filled and still filling with money.

In the old halo days it was standard for map packs to go free after some time. It was so nice when it happened because play lists where packed with maps and new people.
-
Bungie would. Activision wouldn't.
-
Because they figured out a way to make money elsewhere. Like GTA online. Like how EA got rid of their "online pass". Bungie was putting out $20-$40 dlcs as a way to make money. People were upset. They are realizing that people are flocking to ftp games. And that people want to try it before they buy it. And people will spend money of given the option to do so at their own will. Thats how MMOs have survived this long.

which is what the microtransactions are for
-
Anything that is "free" is not conducive to turning a profit for the shareholders, and so EXTREMELY UNLIKELY.
-
People are more willing to put money into smaller transactions more frequently than a lump 2 or 3 times a year. That's why the free to play model is viable, "who cares it's only a couple of bucks, and it looks cool/hilarious"

*cough* Spartan ops armor *cough* eyes up guardian. You don't know how long I've been waiting for you.

The funding from micro transactions doesn't just go straight into the pockets of an evil overlord sitting atop a throne. It cycles back into the game and the business.
