Many think that but think of it like this, it takes a lot of courage to go where no one else has gone before. Whether the darkness is present or not they dive head first into new territory. Many of the maps of Destiny wouldn't exist without them.

The maps would easily exist without them. The Hunters make the maps, not Dead Orbit. Also, it doesnt take courage to flee from the Darkness and adandon everything while stealing resources that could be used to defeat said Darkness.

Although I do like the lore, they believe that all events are predetermined and that earth is destined to fall. They believe the only option is to gather a fleet and find somewhere else far from here to salvage humanity. There not cowards, just accepting the fate of the city and of all mankind

There simply realists that accept the fate of the city and wish to save humanity by spreading it among the stars. They are well aware of there actions and what they will cause. But they see it as an acceptable sacrifice for ensuring humanity's survival

They are ensuring their own survival at the cost of much of the little remaining human population.

Yet there goals are to allow humanity to prosper and rebuild elsewhere. I love there lore and I've always been a fan of the extremists in each gaming universe. Those who ensure survival at any cost. I see them as survivors

Of the three factions only new monarchy is defying the inevitable end of humanity on earth. Both FWC and dead orbit or lead by the truth of our end. New monarchy is trying to rebuild something lost to the ages and will inevitably become overwhelmed and destroyed by the darkness as we survive

If we rebuild our strength from the Golden Age, we will easily survive any threat the Darkness throws at us.

As you can see the resulting events after the golden age didn't end so well. If humanity was so strong then why was our survival the result of an alien being arriving just in time to save us
