Not quite sure, glowing runes started showing up on dreadnaught patrol above doors in court area.. followed then to yellow bar enemies, found one of those damn dark spheres and grabbed it. Didn't know where to put it...

Nothing to do with the item from dismantling a black hammer. That's simply to mark a room where a relic can be activated. It allows you to get the one chest that would normally kill you while trying to pick up.

That sphere gives u immunity to the acid floor for one of the chest not gnashing teeth but another one in tunnels in the court
