Gorm pulls the wall off of the house, and attempts to get closer. After getting as far as he can, he steps back and removes his helmet in an attempt to gain her trust. 'See, I'm human, I'm not going to hurt you. My Brothers and I are here to help.'

After looking at his troops and dismissing them, he offers up his hand again. 'There is nothing to be afraid of now, we can take you somewhere safe. I swear on my life that nothing will happen to you.'

He hesitates, unsure of what to say. 'She's.. She's somewhere safe, somewhere where no one can get to her.' He leans against the building, and waits.

"Who are you? How do you know my mommy?" Again, her frail voice reaches him, as she looks up at him

'I'm Gorm. I saw her leave, she couldn't take you with her, so she asked me to come and get you.' He keeps his hand held out.

A few minutes go by, and the small child hesitantly stands up as she walks over to the massive marine "Can you take me to her?"
-
'I can't, she's gone somewhere that I can't bring you to. But she told me to get you and take you somewhere safe before she left.' He waits, prepared to grab her if she didn't cooperate.
-
"But why can't I see her?!" She stamps her foot, glaring at him trough the classical "stink eye"
-
'You just can't, if i knew why I'd tell you, i promise.'
-
"But I want to see her! I want my mommy!" It slowly became clear that the girl wasn't going anywhere without seeing her mother
-
'I can show you, but you won't like it. It would be better for you to leave this place.'
-
"But mommy!" She crosses her arms, holding onto the bear in one hand, as she let's out a cough

Seeing no easy way to do this, Gorm lunges forward and very carefully grabs her with his hand. Dwarfed by his armored palm, he grabs her easily. He opens his communicator, and sends out a message to his allies. 'This is it, one survivor, no others living. Secure the village, I'm taking her back to the ship.' He sets her on his shoulder, a fall that would hurt if she dared it, and begins walking to the gunship.

She watches it fall, her last connection to her parents, and her home, gone Tears well up in her eyes, as she watches it fall behind them, and the soft thud of it hitting the water...

Gorm's motion detector notices the fall, and he stops to grab it and return it to her, before continuing on to the gunship, and beyond it, the future of the child.
