Do you have a link for that announcement from bungie? I can't seem to find it.
-
It's on a website. Here's a video explaining it
It's on a website. Here's a video explaining it
I saw kotaku's announcement. Something I would like to point out is this info never came from bungie. Until bungie or activision announces or confirm's kotaku, it's nothing but speculation.

Here is your announcement from Bungie.
Here is your announcement from Bungie.
This talks about the live team. That could mean anything from forum moderators to even more micro transactions. It's too vague to assume they mean you will no longer pay for dlc.

Edited by dude527: 10/7/2015 7:35:20 PM"our goal to deliver updates to the game". Their language may not have spilled any huge beans, but it doesn't leave many questions about whether or not these profits are going directly to the GAME experience. Also, you're still going to have to pay for DLC. I don't believe I suggested anywhere that you wouldn't.

World events, feature requests.

They specifically say they're using it to create more robust events for the next year.
They specifically say they're using it to create more robust events for the next year.
That doesn't mean you won't pay for that content. It might mean you will get more for you money.

It's in the update post about Tess Everis' new inventory, dill weed.
-
Not free though is it? Will Vanilla Destiny players be getting this free content? I paid £40 for the Taken King, that's $14 more than those in the USA, tell me again that it is free and I'll show you an idiot.

Good one bb
-
I know this and it doesn't make it any better.
-
Well how do you expect them to make money if they're giving us new strikes and story missions for free
-
Yea,its not as if they have a multi billion dollar publisher backing them that has not only granted them a 500 million dollar budget but is also willing to grant as much money needed as long as the game remains profitable. Oh wait.......
-
But if the game goes free to play, it makes it hard to be profitable...
-
Its never gonna be free to play though. We pay full retail price for the game + dlcs. "Free" and "Activision" dont resonate.

One dlc a year... Like every mmo out there. The other dlc will be paid for through the micro transactions. It's pretty simple. You don't want to buy the cosmetic stuff? Don't. It's fine. You still get the content. One $40-$60 expansion a year is 100% expected
