it's a choice. IF they sold gear players would have the choice to play the game and progress or buy the gear and have nothing to do. there's no "winning" Destiny. right now the the "win" is full raid gear with max light. do you think they would sell end game armor and weapons? even the "exclusive" gear they've given for pre-orders is out classes by vendor gear.
