I understand what you're saying, I really do and I appreciate a well thought out response such as yours. However I disagree with a certain aspects of your argument. " Not only will they make more money off of this then the DLC packs every 3-4 months, they are also going to be releasing this content as free content updates. So those of us who actually are excited and contributing to bungie by buying a simple DANCE emote or a point and laugh emote, we are essentially paying for the DLC for those who refuse all of this." How can we possibly know that they will make more money off of emotes then DLC packs? Its still opt in much like the DLC is it not? There are no guarantees for how many emotes that can expect to sell. As for the case of "Those of us who actually are excited and contributing to bungie" I've spent$240 just in year one. Clearly since you are excited to contribute to bungie (and for the record so am I) you would buy xpac "DLC" as well right? This is exactly what they said it wasn't...nickel and diming. Give us the DLC that actually expands the game...the Destiny universe with new destinations. If they are basing new content of emote sales, what will the quality of content be? What does the next year hold when as you've stated the previous xpac's weren't that great. The biggest underlying issue with Destiny year 1 has been lack of content. Believe me, I understand companies have to make money, and Bungie need's to be profitable in their endeavors with Destiny and the growth of the overall game. I'm a huge fan of Destiny, if the cost is an issue make the xpac's $40 like taken king...fine, spread them out even if need be. Give us solutions not gimmicks, give us real content not emotes and people will pay...not question. If they build it, we will come. Destiny's launch success was solely based on what everyone hoped the game could be, not what it turned out to be. You can't tell me you don't play this game and feel like the potential is being held back, This game has huge opportunities to bring in the masses they should stop restricting the potential and get on with it. People will pay for that experience without the need for gimmicks, which I don't feel will benefit the development of destiny outside of what they already have in expansions. As for the MMO case, MMOs offer WAY more content then destiny has by far! And since the addition of MT's look at how the subscriptions have fallen off...WoW especially. In the beginning of WoW there we're no MT's and that game found success in a huge way...why...because they took a risk and built something that no one else would. MT's have all but been the death of traditional MMO's. Trying to minimize risk with gimmicks is a recipe for disaster, and its that, that worries me. /rant because I do care.
