Here's my question. Why do supers have to be equal to each other suddenly? Before HoS there was nothing comparable to golden gun, it's was absolutely the best super and had the best ranged OHK capabilities in pvp, it absolutely dominated all other supers (excluding arc blade pre-nerf). Hunters had the best for an entire year. Does that mean that their super is the bar for all supers? Do all supers need to be at or below the usefulness/power of gg?

GG was not the best super in my opinion. I still think Nova Bomb is one of the best

At least you have to aim with golden gun. It takes more skill than having a full 26 seconds to spam hammers.

Because you can counter it. Sit around a corner and shotgun him. Team-shoot him. Snipe him. Solo him with a primary if he's bad or if there are multiple people around. Remember: Golden Gun doesn't have any damage reduction. HoS: can't sit in a corner and surprise him, because he can chuck a hammer on the ground next to you. Or, it'll proximity explode next to you. Same if you try to out-maneuver him, the proximity hammers will get you. Can't 1-shot with most snipers, and it's tough to team-shoot him because of the damage reduction. On top of that, he regens health after a kill. It surpasses Golden Gun in pretty much every way, so that's really not a good comparison to make!

Private video. What point were you trying to make with it?

Well, I fixed it. And there was no real point, it was just enjoyable.

Your argument exudes bias.

Mine? I'm trying to. In my opinion, what balances it out is the fact that the subclass in general is sub-par. Gunslingers have tripmines and throwing knives, as well as other useful perks. Sunbreakers don't have much going for them (in Crucible), besides their super. I'm not calling out for a nerf, and I thought my comparison was pretty good, when just looking at the supers. Are there specific points you'd like to highlight?

You are failing to evaluate this from an objective perspective.

Edited by Clark Griswolld: 10/8/2015 12:20:27 AMIt's not my comparison, if you watched the link it's the comparison OP is making, and I have videos of countering HoS it's not as hard as you seem to think. Also, it's easier to run away from than almost all other supers.

Gg didn't have 8 shots, didn't have health regen , didn't have tracking , didn't have massive splash damage and didn't have all the armor sunbreakers have . It was fairly easy to take one out unlike sunb

Edited by Clark Griswolld: 10/8/2015 12:28:49 AMIt's not "easy" as you say. It might be easier than taking out a sun breaker but it's hardly "easy." You're right, GG doesn't have 8 shots but GG is basically aim, point, kill. Add combustion (which everyone seems to forget is a perk) and you can easily acquire 4-6 kills with your 3-4 shots (depending on the equipment). Plus, my question wasn't regarding the two being balanced, I agree, HoS is better in almost every aspect. My question was related to how hunters had the OP super(s) for a year, literally nothing came close to GG and Arcblade, so why is balance so important suddenly?
literally nothing came close to GG and Arcblade, so why is balance so important suddenly
Because the hunters are scared they won't be the top class any more? Because they can't grasp the concept of class balancing, instead of balancing everything out piece by piece? Who knows... The super is great, but that's what the entire class is built for. Outside of the super, it's a terrible subclass with mediocre, at best, grenades and a shitty melee (titan melee has always had shit range and all that good stuff). They have nothing to help the average gunfight out like hunters have had for the past year+ now.
