With all due respect, my shotgun is a great counter to the super. I have had, I want to say if I had to guess, an 85% success rate in going toe to toe with HoS when I bail them around a corner. Really, any amount of skillful play will be the counter. Obviously unless he has been damaged, or I proc a rediculous LOIC and a headshot, it won't OHKO but that's to be expected. Follow that with a melee or even a second shotgun blast and he's toast. Its all about how to dodge litteraly one hammer is close quarters, even if just enough to trad with him, as it is a blade dancer. Oh, and golden gun can counter it if thry don't run max armor (litteraly as high as it can go) plus the extra armor for solar subclass c hestpiece. I have specced both on my titan and I can't see my health bar if I get whacked by a golden gun. Anybody under speced from my titan currently, eill be OHKOed. And black spindle can OHKO too.

You're talking while playing the as a Titan.. You can't have a grenade that procs sooner than a special that hunters get and call it fair.. Realize that the solution that's offered to players engaging with a Titan super is to ambush.. Super (bow) which won't kill on direct impact and will proc after death unless the Titan sucks really bad.. Or just run... Your shotgun theory won't work often unless you're playing with a terrible Titan who doesn't know how to throw a hammer at his feet or is oblivious to radar and it takes more than shotgun+Melee to kill one.. That's more than enough time for the Titan to kill you.. If not.. Once again the Titan is really bad. And remember warlocks as well as hunters had a high defense rating in supers. Hunter with blade dancer and warlocks with sunsinger ram combo. Which were both nerfed in order to create a more even playing field. You can't argue that SB required a defense nerf so that it can die by shotgun+Melee, sniper headshot, or GG one shot even at max armor.

Edited by THEUNDEAD565: 10/8/2015 9:32:43 PMMy shotgun "theory" has me set at a solid 90% success ratio every time I've had to take one down. I rarely die to a sunbreaker titan. Your grenade comment made no sense. Clarify what you mean. Warlocks weren't ment to be tanks. Neither was a Hunter. Both were nerfed to create an even playing field because they both outshined the titan in armor rating. Now everything is where it should be, with hunters being speedy yet "squishy", Warlocks being a good mix, but more recovery based, and Titans being the tank with low recovery and decently low agility. TL;DR: The classes broke their archetype. Now they don't. A Golden Gun shouldn't be the end all, be all super. They had the bar at their level for a long time, and realistically, every titan class in their super can tank a golden gun. This is nothing new, but people are so butthurt and need a nerf, when its not neccesary.

Titans are meant to be the tank I'll give you that much.. But that doesn't mean they should get a high dps super. You stating that the hunter and warlock fell out of their type should run a double standard on the Titan.. Keep the defense then.. Lower the hammer throws to 3.. Hunters as the dps class get 3 shots with no shield cause their dos

Hunters are not ment as the DPS class... welln that's subclass dependent technically, but an entire different argument. There are three archetypes: Agility based (Hunter), Recover based (Warlock) and Armor based (titan). Warlocks and hunters became much tank i than a titan, hence the nerf on them. DPS is soley the subclass, so yes... a titan can be a DPS Tank. It would fit under the solar subclass, just as the other supers have in the past (for the most part).

Also no disrespect to anyone who runs it, it's effective. But as a player who's game time mainly consist of pvp (well over pvp time played) it completely breaks the competitiveness of certain game types.. Like the video stated.. Whoever gets a sunbreaker on their team in certain game modes dominates.. You know things are off when you load into a pvp match and you think "I wonder if they have any sunbreakers" just like the same thought would run through your head for the thorn.. Now I do not hate on Titans, yes I play mine the least. But I would gladly choose a Titan to be my teammate in any game type pvp or pve before picking any class.. This means I have respect for the class not the people who play it obviously cause every Titan that I ever discuss this with jumps into the "whiny hunter main" nonsense. But I do appreciate your style of discussion on this topic

Yeah but realize putting a dps and tank together creates too much unbalance.. That's why the simple suggestion of lowering the defense to where the Titan barely dies from a sniper headshot or GG super or shotgun+Melee would solve the whole issue. Even tho the video attached above shows that you can get around 7 hammers with a high amount of defense and recovery per kill is considered OP. The small reduction in defense won't break the class but it won't become a giant crucible crutch. Not saying all sunbreaker a use it as a crutch but you can't deny it is hands down king of all supers that requires either you run into a poor player or you simply get all the right shots off without making any mistakes.. Other supers don't offer that kind of power. I won't deny blade dancers had that but required close range combat and got nerfed. And I don't disagree with that nerf but out of all the classes/subclasses in destiny the Titan is now the least diverse in pvp (not counting pve) due to the fact that it is now being used as a crutch.. Similar to the thorn before 2.0
