I also had the same issue when I logged in this morning. (Oct 8) I bypassed the screen that wanted me to purchase the expansions and played the game anyway. Nothing was locked out or different, however I did get a random message pop up while playing my Titan while on a Patrol mission that once again reminded me I had reached the end of the trail levels and should purchase the expansions.
