Not everyone that plays games is good at platforming.. which is what most jumping puzzles are. not everyone played Mario or Turok and had to learn how to make the jumps properly. It could be their first game with platforms in it at all.

Very true. That and "shooters" have never been synonymous with "jump puzzles" before. That's a weird concept to me even though I don't have jumping problems. (I pull the sword out to simulate other platformers)
