I know its a lot of fun for some, but PvP is always maddening and frustrating for me and I avoid it whenever I can. That's why I always let out a few choice words whenever I am in the middle of a quest step to get something super awesome that I'd like to have suddenly leads into forcing me to do stuff in PvP. I might be the only one that has issues with this, but my enjoyment just drops once I see that "oh, you gotta do PvP to finish that thingy you gotten halfway on".
@Bungie - do you really need to bar everything awesome behind a PvP wall? I am doing the daily PvP stuff, do you REALLY need to force me to play something I don't like even more? FYI I can tell you that I'm not getting more fond of it the more I am playing it. There is super awesome gear locked to PvP exclusively so do you really need to have everything else awesome have to go through it as well? Chaperone, the exotic swords, the rank 5 gunsmith handcannon. I suppose I could chose not to do them naturally, but when just about every cool weapon is locked behind PvP that is really reducing my options of cool flashy stuff.
I beg you Bungie, for the future - stop locking so much behind PvP all the time - Have PvP exclusive gear like Iron Banner and such, but stop making most of the items have to go through PvP. Makes me a sad lion =C
All that negative stuff said, I have to say that I do thouroughly enjoy the changes to the Taken King and how some of the unique item quest like "Black Spindle" and "Sleeper Simulant" works. These kinda things I love, great work all around!
Edit: Wooh! Big subject. Bigger then I thought. Having hard time reading everything coming inn. One player came with the suggestion of having two ways of unlocking items. One PvE and the other PvP. Then players could pick which to go for. I like that idea. I get that PvP'ers aren't happy having to do PvE, same as I'm not happy doing PvP. I know what I like, but as some have pointed out, I can't expect Bungie to cater only to me. Thanks for a lot of feedback, I'm going to have to mull this over for a bit.

I have 5 quests left to do. All of them are crucible related. They'll never get finished.
-
I've been saying this since year 1 month 1 when I got my 1st exotic bounty I hate pvp stop making me do it
-
They could add an A or B choice. A = Go do PVP stuff. B = Go do X amount of strikes etc.
-
I know what you mean, so much stuff in this game is locked behind the PvE barrier too.
-
Year 1 everything was locked in PvE. It evened it out a little.
-
Who cares?
-
I love online multiplayer shooters, but I hate Destiny PVP. It's such a mess; the lag, the imbalance with weapons and classes, the lack of regular support. It's awful.
-
Just slog your way through it. You might have a good game and accidentally enjoy yourself.
-
I understand what you're saying. I'm not great at PvP, I can do alright though. I don't mind playing Crucible, I'm just not good enough for some things. Like the chaperone quest. If there was an equally difficult PvE way to get that gun, I'd work my ass off for it, because I'm better at PvE and would have a better chance,
-
I so agree with this. I love Destiny, but Im a PvE player. I suck at PvP because I don't like it, I don't like it because I suck at it. All the PvP quests will more than likely go unfinished. Giving players a PvE or PvP option to complete a quest is a brilliant idea. I drudge through the daily for nothing more than the marks. I literally run around for 8-12 mins until it's over, then don't look back. You are not alone, I just hope Bungie stops forcing us into PvP
-
All the pvp players feel the same way about pve quests. Get over it is a big part of the game and I promise you if you work on it for a week or two you will enjoy it more
-
You're not alone brah.
-
You can play whatever content you like man
-
There's a lot of stuff in the world that I don't like. I usually stay away from it

-
I hate it when bungie makes me play the raid and strikes to get gear. Its so unfair cuz i hate pve! Waaah!!
-
I is a TadPaul

Are you serious?... Destiny is PvE and PvP. If you can't do the PvP parts of quests, then you don't deserve the rewards. If you don't like the PvP, here's a thought: stop complaining and play a different -blam!-ing game.
-

Raid weapons, Touch of malice, sleeper simulant, any strike specific reward. All of those are locked to pve. Also you know how much enjoyment I lost when I saw the gather 10 rare materials part of the sword quest? 2 hours of running in circles is the worst gameplay experience of my life. Your argument goes both ways, but if you want the loot you got to do the quest.

Edited by Soul_Eater_42: 10/10/2015 1:28:38 AMLately, I just can't enjoy it. Currently have no good weapons for it unless I use my old year 1 weapons. My 55A-Allfate was a beast. So far, I can't find any year 2 equivalent. Most of the pulse rifles I've tried so far suck in comparison. Might try the Iron Banner one, or the Suros pulse rifle from the Gunsmith whenever he has it again, or if I can get one from increasing my rank with him.
-
I used to feel the exact same way. But now I enjoy it for some reason!?
-
I agree. I was fine with pvp back in the beta days, because the maps were perfect. Now they all require you to use a shotgun in order to keep from dying from other shotguns. Sniping is now punished because of all the flanking routs and corners that shotgunning bitches can use. No skill required. I abhor the current pvp
-
How do you think PvP'ers felt when they had to do raids to hit lvl 30? And then when Iron Banner gave the gear to hit it, they had raiders spit on them and cry about how unfair it was that someone could get to max level by PvP?
-
I'm the opposite. I had no problem with the first part of the chaperone quest.. I actually enjoyed it. The shield brothers strike I still haven't done because it's just not exciting for me.
-
I can say that most of the PVP stuff will be left undone, not because I don't play crucible, but because I'm just not very good at it and never will be. I was messing around with the chaperone quest.. ya that is going to stay not done. I'm happy just finish a match even, my old reflexes are never going to match up against a teenager anymore. I only finished my 25 sword kills thanks to mayhem, still need to do it on my other two characters. I wouldn't mind if there was actually some skill based matching like IB, i tend to do OK there, but otherwise I'm either having a great game in scrub land, or getting my ass handed to me because everyone on the other team is positive KD somewhere close to 2 or better.
