You want pvp weapons, go play pvp.
Some people who only play pvp are also mad that they have to go and raid to get things like ToM, but you don't see them complaining.

The swords are pve... you get them via a pve quest. Suddenly to upgrade them you have to go into crucible... Why is that? I was in PVE and now Im called to pvp... I dont like PvP..

Well if i want the exotic sword i gotta do a bunch if stuff on PvE that i dont like, it goes both ways.

Well if you want an exotic sword you must prove your worth in the crucible, it's really quite simple.
