Turn based action.
Energy weapons do less damage to Armor.
Solid weapons do less damage to Shields.
Ships fired at that are out of range will take less damage.
If you have a 2 or more of the same weapon they will be stacked, and will all fire at the same time.
Solid weapons will have to be reloaded after firing, which will take a turn.
Energy weapons will overheat, a safety feature will shut them down to cool, which will take 5 turns. You can override the safety feature though, but this may start a fire every time it's fired after override, or cause the complete loss of the weapon.
Special Ammo for solid weapons will have to be stored in storage. Upon the usage of all the ammo it will go back to basic. (Basic Ammo is infinite, but takes up 1 storage space. Different ammo for each solid weapon.)
