It just has a chance to give glimmer when picking up ammo :I what's so great about that?

Paired with storm caller perks (the "no super build"), or a sunsinger holding onto self rez, it's other perk is actually really useful.

Because as a Stormcaller when your Super is charged you can pick up orbs to top off your grenade and melee before activating it. Transcendence ftw.

I love that shit, It makes the pick up orb effects much easier to use, too.
