Choosing not to fight is smart considering the cost of a war is generally pretty high. On Top of that, you could say lives are priceless.

They are unrelated. Personally, it's a stupid idea because they won't stop chasing you simply because you left. Also, they can be stupid or smart and still cowards. They are cowards.
