The Europa moon is in the Europa system due to events (im giving you the short version)that happened, this led to the systems discovery so it was named that.

I'm confused how can it be in the europa system if it's a moon of Jupiter and it is already in our system . (The milky way)

A very large asteroid hit it and sent most of it flying into deep space I believe.
