Not the raid gear itself but equivalent gear. Iron Banner participants used to complain constantly about not wanting to do the raid in order to get leveled and be competitive.
Well, I don't know if you've noticed but, once again, the raid has the highest light leveled gear in it.
Light level is going to matter, in a pvp event.
Iron Banner is arriving before Trials of Osiris. While hopefully the Trials gear will be raid equivalent, it won't get here in time to level up for a pvp player to compete with the pve players that only play pvp during IB.
Video gaming is supposed to be about the experience centered around the player. Bungie has always had a problem with that. Doing things to force their customers to play the way they want us to play has always been their philosophy. It's irritating.
