It does affect pve players. The more they try to force players into pvp, the better the numbers look as far as player metrics go. Thus, they devote development time to adding pvp only things. Pvp is far easier and cheaper to design things for anyway. That's why Trials being introduced when it was saved/screwed destiny. PoE was a joke, people disliked it intensely and felt lied to about not getting a raid. Trials was a faster, more interesting way to get etheric light and better overall rewards, saved HoW from being a total flop, and gave devs a metric saying the player base plays pvp more than it actually would if people only played what they enjoy.

I stopped reading because, yeah... no. Bungie games are known for their MP; it's what they do, it's what their fans expect. Besides, like every other MMO around (and yes, this is an MMO), it has a PVP component. PVP will be part of the franchise for at least 9 more years -- get used to it.
