First of all, I didn't come up with this, someone else did and I am just spreading the word because it's still an issue for some people.
SO you keep going to Court of Oryx hoping you will meet other guardians who may help with your runes but keep hitting a ghost town? There is a trick: Every time you board the Dreadnought and head right to Hall of Souls (where Court of Oryx is), as soon as you hit the "transition area" (the pathway connecting The Breach and Hall of Souls), walk through that pathway really slowly until you reach Hall of Souls.
There is a matchmaking system between every location, not just when you launch the patrol. The reason for not being able to see anyone in CoO is that the transition area is too small and if you sprint through it, the matchmaking system will fail to match you with other guardians. If you walk through the pathway slowly, the game will have enough time to match you with others.
I've had the same issue at the beginning but after I started using this trick, I have always met bunch of people in CoO.
Please bump and like this so others can see it. I think this is a really helpful trick.
TL;DR: If you can't meet anyone in Court of Oryx, walk through the pathway connecting The Breach and Hall of Souls slowly so the game has enough time for matchmaking to finish.
Edit: Thanks for all the positive feedback. This trick works on any Dreadnought locations and you can use it both ways - meaning that if you DO want to be alone in a location, sprint through the transition zone and there is a high chance you will end up alone. Good for Hadium Flakes farming in The Mausoleum for example.
Also, this will work on the planets, not just Dreadnought. But it's generally not an issue there because the transition zones are big enough to allow matchmaking to finish (except Earth - Rocket Yard).

Interesting, I'll try this

Bump meh

Interesting. I normally just present a Rune (that's not Antiquated of course), and Guardians come far and wide. I'm willing to try this trick out, thanks.

Someone bump me ONCE ONLY
-
i was having trouble getting CoO groups. i would never EVER find people. i needed 3 more fragments for touch of malice, all from court. found a group of 5 other people one day, got them all. hoorah

"GhostTown" are you a madonna fan?
-
Pretty sure this isn't true

Every once in awhile my friends and I will drop into the court and invite one of the ranfoms to party chat. We will then have them invite the rest of the party effectively increasing the number of active guardians there to six! Sometime the lag is unbearable, and its definitely easy mode court sessions but man its so fun!

Bump for later ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
-
good tip!

Wow, great find!
-
Great post dude.....will have to try this later. One other thing, I was farming the spawn location for flakes for about an hour and in that hour I think I came across one other person? What's the deal with that?

Bump for later
-
This worked for me. A few times I had to go back to the hull breach and re-walk the path but eventually I'd hit a court with 3-4 people in it.
-
To think you actually need more than 1 to do the Court. LOL.
-
Thanks definitely going to try
-
Now this is news I can use. Thanks!
-
Valuable post!
-
Awesome will try out
-
a.k.a. Loading into another Instance. Yes, do this slowly/just walk. +1

This is only getting out now? This has been the case for loading into any patrol area since launch!!!! Give servers a chance = matchmade with other people Sprint and not give servers chance = alone However, don't expect to be matchmade with people in areas such as the Rocket Yard on Earth, there is generally no one there at a given time due to various reasons such as patrol missions rarely sending you that far and people being picky when it comes to selecting said patrol missions. People usually stay away from Patrol missions which have the Ghost symbol over them, they are the ones which always send you to other areas to scan shit.
