I laugh when someone tries to block with a sword.......just shoot their feet or toss a grenade, works everytime.

That usually only works for legendary swords the exotic swords shield range blocks a whole lot more.

The sword doesnt make you invincible if they manage to shoot you on the side you are down since its only protecting you from the front. I havent tried the feet since I just wait for them to stop blocking. Gonna try that

It's worked for me, also...a little more difficult is timing your shotgun so you shoot as they begin to swing.....but that one is riskey. Stuckey grenade and jump away always works.
