I have seen apparent similarities between Destiny and the Bible in general. For example:
The collapse is like the Fall of Man. The Guardians are like Christians fighting sin. The Speaker is like the Bible itself, since he is sort of like the Traveler's word, and the Bible is God's word. Also, with TTK's recent release, the Darkness closes in, but the Light fights back and wins, which is like Jesus' return. The different factions are like different theological views.
If you do not believe in Jesus, God, or that the Bible is true, please be respectful and do not post hateful comments and just make a fool of yourself. Believe what you want.
I also realize that this doesn't completely align with Destiny's lore, and you need to understand that I am making this understandable for the average Destiny player.
Have a nice day and God bless you.

Destiny is like a ham sandwich The light is the mustard fending off the overpowering taste of ham. The bread like the traveler securing us between its aura. The speaker is the cheese..because cheese.
-
dont curse me with this BS also the bible is the prehistoric New York Times Best Seller (a story that sold a ton and people obsessed over it and wanna believe its real) this is a game to have fun on not have religion BS brought on to it so go play with your "friends" like them priest and Micheal Jackson

God won't bless you, New Monarchy will.

Monomyth.

Seems like a stretch to compare the speaker to the bible.

ALL HAIL SHEOGORATH THE ONLY REAL GOD. WHO GAVE US FLAMING CHEESE WHEN WE NEEDED IMMEDIATE KILLS??? SHEOGORATH. WHO MADE US FIGHT INVISIBLE DRAGONS??? SHOEGORATH. ALL HAIL SHEOGORATH.

Well it's not unusual for games to have inspiration from different believes or mythologies. I don't know if it's based on bible but ok interesting find. Also kinda stupid a lot are bashing someone on his/her believes. But it's the internet, what can you expect.
-
I always thought it was kinda based of of old roman and Greece history

Don't forget the Resurrection of the Righteous!aka Guardians Or Ghosts helping guardians like angels helped mankind Taken are an abomination, a combination of physical and Oryx evil.... The nephilim in the bible are a combination of demons/rogue Angels/evil and man. Also the taken are significantly stronger than anything else just like the giant nephilim compared to man. And.. Lol The light is a force for good like the Holy Spirit Just my opinion

Thou shalt not kill
-
Please don't ruin a game I like with your bullshit

Edited by Deadpool746: 10/13/2015 1:07:19 AMI also thought about Skolas calling himself the "kell of kells" like Jesus is known as the "king of kings". I don't know if using this stuff in a game is a sin or not because it's just a fictional universe, but I do think it's cool that bungie uses the bible for some of their ideas in destiny and halo.
-
Destiny is a sin
-
Regarding the tower being a refuge and safe place for guardians reminds me of Psalm 61:3-For you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the foe
-
You are seeing similaritys where there are none, slow down
-
I've noticed this too with Halo. Somebody at Bungie must draw a lot of inspiration from the Bible.
-
Cleanse.... CLEANSE!!!!!!
-
LMAO, you guys never cease to amaze me XD
-
Remember when Jesus killed all of those Dragons? I shit you not, that actually happened.
-

You only believe what you believe because of what's been passed on in history. Yes I'm an atheist and proud of it. I will not blindly follow a faith that has been passed down for generations. I'm not here to banter on about how religion is a bunch of nonsense, but have you ever even considered that the bible might have been written as a joke or maybe profit? The churches get large donations after all. And here's my theory about the old and new testament. God's wrath was used as a scare tactic to gain followers, but it wasn't working so well so they completely changed God's demeanor. There is quite a few contradictions between the new and the old testament, but what do I know I wasn't there 2000 years ago. But hey it must be the truth cause we were all there right? No one will ever know the truth but believe what you want, my point is...this kind of post doesn't belong on a forum.

Bungie constantly puts religious references in their video games, many of them from Christianity.

I believe you are making a fool of yourself.
