How do you think it should be done?
No ones in any doubt that when the day comes there's going to be problems, so would you work around and achieve this?
I feel it needs to be done in gradual steps, while obviously denying the end goal in early stages.
First should be tightening up regulations and adding additional costs.
Then as mass shootings happen bring out bans on particular high rate of fire weapons.
Obviously this would include a lengthy amnesty period for any such weapons to be handed in for reward.
After that the actual ban for that type of weapon would stand, a heavy prison sentence would be enforced to deter offending.
Around this point arguments would be pretty strong for a small edit to the amendment.
Once that has happened it will be easy to do again.
Just repeat and tighten over and I would have that amendment down to handguns only.. Then take that away to.
It would be a long slow process over 10 or so years but I think that would work.

The amendment actually specifically talks about militia. To prevent a monarchy from rising in America. Guys you have to admit you can't just leave a law lying around for that many years unchanged. There need to be a few tweaks. Not because of school shootings, but because the law is outdated.
