You said it's not the truth it's opinion. You both have opinions and both believe they are truth (I'm not saying there not) but what you believe to be truth is different than what he believes to be truth.

Your saying I think mine is the truth. I don't, I know it's an opinion, and it's as close I can get to the "truth" with the evidence I have been provided.

I know there is a truth but I can't say for certain that my opinion is it. I think it's it, but I can't say for sure. But hey if new credible evidence is presented I'll change theory accordingly.
