I wonder why people call it fiction when the bible was written word of witnesses and wrote down for history. Do you also believe that our history books are fiction?

La bible a été modifié plusieurs fois au long the l'histoire pour avantager le clergé et installer une dominance vis à vis du peuple. Très peu de texte de la bible originale existe encore de nos jours.

  • It may have different translations. That does not mean that the original Hebrew (Old Testament) and the Greek ( New Testament) cannot be translated word by word. In fact a man by the name of Brian Simmons is being translated word for word. He is a master of the Hebrew and Greek language and he actually helped Jerusalem establish their original language once again.

Je ne parle aucunement de traduction mais de modification volontaire de la part des autoritées religieuses.

  • Most biblical scholars agree that Jesus was in fact a real person. And most biblical scholars also agree that none of the gospel writers (including Paul) ever met Jesus. So the whole "witnesses" thing is false. Unless you're telling me that someone witnessed the birth, life, and death of Jesus but didn't decide to write about it until 70-80 years later.

  • Do you believe that Joan of arc existed? How about prince Edward? If so then how do you think their history was written?

  • Those people are well documented from a multitude of different sources from multiple different areas of the world. There isn't a single historian living in Jesus's time that mentioned anything about him. You'd think if there was a guy running around the Mesopotamian walking on water and healing the blind he'd have garnished the attention of actual historians elsewhere. But no, all we have is gospel writers that couldn't even agree about various events in his life or the things he said. Ever played the telephone game in school? Where the teacher whispers a short story to one student and that student whispers it to the next and so on and when it finally gets to the last student the story is drastically different than the original? Well take that game, stretch it out over 2000 years, a hundred different languages, and pass it through the hands of a thousand people who intentionally edit bits out and add stuff in, then give it to a council that gets to decide which parts stay in and which parts aren't important, and then finally, tell people that the words in the story are law and to break the law is to be condemned but allow them to interpret the words any way they want. That's the Bible.

  • How do you know that there was many records of them? I don't see those records in history books. Do you? Also. The writers of Matthew mark Luke and John are all the same. Idk what you are talking about that they aren't.

  • No, they're not the same. There's a large number of blatant contradictions between their stories. A quick Google search of "gospel contradictions" should help you out a bit.

Go show yourself. Like I said you can quickly and easily search for that information. I'm not gonna spoon feed you. If you're gonna prattle on about the verifiable truth of the Bible and how it doesn't contradict itself you'd best be damn sure that it doesn't. (Which it does, not just in the gospels but all over the place.) I swear most of you religious types just sit and listen to a preacher tell you what your religion is about and what its holy text says/means but you don't actually read the shit thoroughly yourself. Actually you know what? Never mind. I don't even know why I try to talk to you people. It's hard to change the minds of people who have been indoctrinated since birth to believe this shit. I'm sure if nobody ever told you santa wasn't real you'd still believe that too.

  • This is why I don't argue my Christianity. It's a belief. There really are tons of contradictions and tons of things that are just hard to believe. But damn, kudos to you for being a grade A arguer and getting your point across, you said some good points, and even as a believer, I do have some doubts and what not. I'm not a blind follower, I love to question and poke around at it. Good argument man (:

  • Paul never met Jesus. You are correct but he did have his disciples. 4 "books" gospels were written by them. Those are the witnesses. They are 4 different men writing about the same things. Look it up. Each book has a separate historic date that they are written. Yes they are written almost at the same time but not together. How can you not believe in this history but you can believe in other history books. They are written the same. By men who bear witness to the events at hand.

Lmao Idk if I should admire your faith or laugh at your utter stupidity for saying that the whole witness thing is a fact when nothing that happened over 2,000 years ago can really be proven. I think I'll just laugh.

  • No? Nothing that happened over 2000 yrs ago can't be proven? But let me guess you believe in the Big Bang theory and the evolution of a single cell organism. And that we come from apes?

  • Are you serious? Hahaha Even athiests that hate God any any kind of religion admit that Jesus is real. They just deny his deity!

  • It's not an opinion. It's a fact. Jesus of Nazareth was a real man.

  • Yeah but he wasn't white. Also, the only evidence of his existence is literally text in the bible, and a few relics in churches in Europe. So yeah there's evidence, but I wouldn't really call it rock solid.

  • I never said he was white? Anyway that's isn't true. The bible is a historic book that holds records that coincides with what's written in our history books. Maybe you should do more research man. You will find that even athiests who are history majors agree that the bible hold record of events that happened on earth. It's the deity of Jesus that they have a problem with or the fact that there may be a god at all.

  • No I've done a fair amount of reading, and I know you didn't say he was white sorry I just wanted to point that out. I just don't like people who just straight up say, I'm right and you're wrong. Unless of course it's like actually been proven like light wave particle dualism and shit.
