Most biblical scholars agree that Jesus was in fact a real person. And most biblical scholars also agree that none of the gospel writers (including Paul) ever met Jesus. So the whole "witnesses" thing is false. Unless you're telling me that someone witnessed the birth, life, and death of Jesus but didn't decide to write about it until 70-80 years later.
