Star Wars BF: Angry Joe Impressions!
I played around 50 games of the star wars battlefail beta on console...
Pros:
- Star wars theme
- Awesome sound effects
- Gorgeous graphics
- Darth Vader
- Decent net-code
- Survival co-op mode
- 3rd/First person shooter
Cons:
- Scrub friendly gun play
- Lack of destructibility
- Totally unbalanced WA mode
- Poor optimisation
- 900p/720p
- Generic drop zone mode
- Hero animations
- Darth Vader voice acting
- Glitches
- OP sniper, fast cooldown
- OP bubble shield fast cooldown
- Spawns
- E.A.
- No Private match
I had some fun playing SWBF beta, but ultimately the game felt very repetitive, that leads me to question longevity.
I don't believe this multiplayer only game is worth full retail price. Its competition have more maps, modes and a single player campaign.
Angry Joe brings up a lot of good points in the video, as he said the game feels "rushed." I will probably pick up SWBF a few months down the line when it has more modes, maps with all bugs patched. I wish E.A. had given Dice a longer development cycle.
How do you guys feel about the beta? Do you agree with Angry Joe's points, or will you be buying the game on release?
EDIT: I'm at to finding out that SWBF will have no private games at launch. 😏

10 RepliesWalker mode is NOT unbalanced. I won as the Rebels countless times. Stop treating it like -blam!-ing team death match and actually play the OBJECTIVE. Use the plethora of turrets at your disposal for Christ sake! I ripped so many storm troopers while in an anti-infantry turret. We had SIX y-wing bombers and took down one Walker during the first phase before it even reached the hanger. Took down the second before it even made it to the trenches. The mode is not unbalanced. People are just -blam!-ing stupid.

5 RepliesI beg to differ that Walker Assault mode is actually fairly balanced, the only reason there are more imperial wins is because a majority of the players haven't learned to play the objective yet.

1 ReplyThis game is as bad as Destiny. $50 expansion pass for the DLC. So you invest $110 dollars on the game. One that has no campaign and less features then battlefront 2. Seems like triple a games have taken a turn for the worse. Gaming use to be cheap.

THEN HOW THE -blam!- DOES COD STILL EXIST? most all games in my childhood were extremely repeating but we played those damn things for years an counting. Now all of a sudden it's like a game can't run the same multiplayer map twice or its considered repetative.

I get it, he's perfect if you simply don't have the attention span to read an onset of reviews by critics and fans alike, rather resorting to one person's youtube account to base your own opinion on something. He's a nit picky bastard, but he does have some good points in some things, but he just frustrates the living hell out of me. That said I have only heard of okay things from battlefront across the board, I have a feeling the hype that is being thrown around is the best thing about the game so far and probably heading into the game. That's it. I played plenty of WA and won just as much as the Rebels as I did Empire. The issue is with players not knowing what they're doing, not the game mode. -720p still looked beautiful to me. -I still liked Drop Zone, and I'm tired of hearing everything people don't like being called "generic." Is there any game mode that has the same rules as DZ? -The Hero animations are rather clunky -As is Vader's voice acting -I experienced very few glitches -I only got one kill with the sniper. I haven't had that much trouble sniping since Halo 3. -Use ion shot on bubble shield; cooldown should be extended though -I was never spawn trapped. In fact I thought the spawn were very good; I was never caught out in the open against an enemy when using default spawn. Partner spawn is your own fault if you get killed. -EA isn't a point. Personally I feel like people want this game to fail.

We don't need destructibility in every game. - Totally unbalanced WA mode. That's why there was an open beta, now they know it's unbalanced and will fix it. - Poor optimisation. wat I haven't heard this complaint anywhere, a lot of people have said it's butter smooth on both PC and consoles. - 900p/720p. ? - Generic drop zone mode. GAMEMODES I HATE THEM - Hero animations. Yeah, Luke's animations are a bit shitty. - Darth Vader voice acting. And yes, Vader's voice is shitty as well. - Glitches. 4 RepliesThe net code felt pretty laggy. That should be in the con. A lot of his cons I disagree with because they are more opinion. The game will be a lot of fun. Walker assault is a very unique and new game mode, so it won't be perfect at first.
