I didn't notice that nice bit of 10 bullets = 10 years. GG Bungie That being said, the "black is his worm" part is a stretch. The gun taps into the powers gained from the ancient deal made between the proto-Hive and the Worms and I would make the much more suitable claim that the black heart/blight type thing in the gun is more closely akin to darkness in its purest form- which is what the worms use to grant the Hive "magic" to them (the worms manipulate the darkness, the worm's themselves are not granting the powers so much as the middle man for Darkness to Hive. Oryx is granted direct access only after he takes it from Akka the Truth telling Worm.) I draw this conclusion from the one thing you forgot- the runes. The Hive runes circling the Darkness at varying speeds are the symbols used to represent the Virtuous Worms (the original thing on that comes from Toland's Journal). Therefore, under the pretense that each part is represented once, the (Black)(Ravenous) Heart in the center is Darkness. The thing guarding it represent light (order and false rules) or life, and the darkness (the law of nature or chaos) breaks through into bullets/lives that should not exist. That comes at the cost of health, of course, just like the Hive. Hope this made sense and will help you better the thread past its current coolness -Qwerty
