Have people gone ape sh!t?
The tether does what its supposed to do which is try to counter/negate supers.
Most of the time Nightstalkers end up dying in the process of shooting Shadowshot and dont even get to take advantage of their supers.....the tether takes time to activate.
OP is a sack of Ascendent Shards!
