Here's the reason. They don't want you using the same gear over, and over, and over again. They want you to go out and find new gear, whether you like it or not. And if that means forcing you too, then so be it.

Forcing you to get new gear if RNG ever -blam!-ing gives it to you...Sure play destiny the way you want, but when you do, we -blam!- you up the ass and make you play the way we want you to, with more grinding, more broken perks, senseless patches that don't fix shit that needs to be taken care of. I can go on and on, but bungie knows all this and so does the customers and its not gunna change...Like again the example from before, field scout being broken and still a perk on year 2 guns, yet ohh boy we need microtransactions in the game...yeah...
-
How does Bungie's dick taste?
-
But I want to mix and match gear from first trials with new year two get and still have that be viable in pve. Why not?

Edited by batmonkey99: 10/15/2015 1:46:41 AMthe Game is not about BUNGIE The game is FOR US. WE are the Game's funds, participants, and Stakeholders. The Purpose of the Game is to MAKE US HAPPY, that way, WE'LL PAY FOR IT. to hell and back if we don't want to play it just the way they want us to.

Because it's fun to use the same weapons over and over again because they are the best ones out there.
-
That is why Halo failed and never became a franchise, having to use the same weapons for the entire campaign. Players like switching guns instead of reloading.
-
Edited by TechyWizard: 10/15/2015 6:46:58 PMYou're comparing an RNG grind game to a game that revolves around an intense campaign and a balanced arena multiplayer. And BTW, Halo is one of the most popular video game franchise ever.
-
Funniest comment i ever read on Bungie community Halo didn't become a franchise LOOOOOL You still know that current Bungie is achiving the sales justbecause they developed Halo :)
-
Edited by JetStalker: 10/16/2015 10:02:52 AMIts called satire and yes Halo became the best selling series for Xbox and sadly that talent left Bungie to 343 studios. The leftovers stayed with Bungie. EDIT: corrected 343 studios misprint thank you
-
Hey man, friendly correction, 343
-
Did you like, just have a sudden change of heart man? That's what it sounds like there is that you're supporting our side of the debate.
-
I was being sarcastic. It's not fun to use the same weapons over and over again because it makes the game stale. Destiny is a RNG game, the grind is what makes the game fun. You can't have a game that relies on the grind to let you continually use the same weapons over and over again. That's what the game is, a grind to get the next best thing.
-
Forgot I say shut the f*** up you a****** no one cares what you have to say they f***** up and
-
-
Remember that sarcasm is not always clearly evident in text communication man. Destiny's RNG is $hit. I’ve gotten a useless “Conspiracy Theory-D” from every vanguard package but one. Rares that are (key word) CONSISTENTLY better than legendaries Almost every legendary i get starting at 280! Half of my blues are higher than 280. And all this at light 303 It was Bungie going back on their word to bar year 1 items. (Deej's statement had no timeline) and I LIKED the challenge of upgrading things in HOW
-
Sadly my blues even have better roles and I can't infuse them.
-
**Pain felt over distance**
-
That's the point of RNG, make it difficult to obtain great rolls on weapons so when you do, you'll be motivated to keep playing. And whether or not you enjoyed the difficulty of ascending weapons, a lot of people basically had enough to kill a horse, plus why use the new weapon when you can just use fatebringer?

Edited by Super Sayian Jedi 2: 10/15/2015 3:31:35 AMNobody wants to spend a year grinding on stupid s*** just so that they can come out with another freaking DLC and nerf all the weapons that you're trying to earn now I put over a thousand hours into earning all the year 1 weapons I had grinding raids every week I'm getting pretty much nothing it took me almost a year just to get black hammer I got it a week before the taken king came out and bungee goes around the makes them all useless I feel betrayed

Edited by batmonkey99: 10/15/2015 2:51:16 AMAllow me to repeat myelf: The Game is not about BUNGIE The game is FOR US. WE are the Game's funds, participants, and Stakeholders. The Purpose of the Game is to MAKE US HAPPY, that way, WE'LL PAY FOR IT. to hell and back if we don't want to play it just the way they want us to. If Most of us want to play this way, a reason is not necessary. That's the way it should be. DONE. Overtime something new we like may come up. if it does, we'll move to it, and still have our favs. If nothing new does catch our attention, we're still happy. (btw, i hate all hand cannons)
-
"Yay! I got this gun that's really good! *1 year later* I don't need any other gun, this one is the best. *3 months later* I'm getting really bored. I'm gonna go play something else now." Compared to: "Yay! I got this gun that's really good! *1 year later* well, I have this really good gun, but it has a low attack, but I also just found this new gun that has a higher attack, I guess I'll try it out. *3 months later* I'm really happy I found this gun, I'm liking it way better than my old one. *weapon drops* this new weapon has a higher attack, I'll try it out" One ends in boredom, while the other ends in the excitement of the unknown.
-
You seem confused. Most of us find our primary enjoyment in the fun times we have with our friends online. Our guns might have stayed the same, but the challenges we were facing with them did not. Finding a new gun isn't the pint bro. Let's fix that timeline of yours. Yay, I'm having a blast on here, and I got these nice new guns (since as you generously pointed out, we mostly had a collection of awesome year one guns) 1 year later, this new boss is tough, but my friends and i with my old faithfuls managed to beat him! 3 months later, made some new friends and old faithfuls and I (along with maybe a couple of newbie guns, if they made the cut) just beat ORYX in the raid!
-
You don't get the point of Destiny. It's main purpose is to hook you with the endless grind for gear. That's it. Of course you find hanging with your friends, and killing new enemies fun, but that's just filler for what destiny is all about: getting the next best thing.
-
Edited by batmonkey99: 10/16/2015 6:03:21 AMEDIT: As I said elsewhere, works here the same That is Grade A SAD, and not just the pitiful kind of SAD, I mean the drop in your heart kind of SAD. If your reason for playing this game is "to be hooked with the endless grind for gear. That's it" and "hanging with your friends, and killing new enemies fun, but that's just filler" Then you are a hopeless and lost cause, you poor tragic thing. I will mourn for you.
-
Didn't you copy this off is someone else's reply? I dunno, I can't keep track. And I'm sorry, but it's fact. Destiny's meant to hook you with the grind for new gear, and raids and strikes are just a thing to keep people entertained between loot drops.
