That's the point of RNG, make it difficult to obtain great rolls on weapons so when you do, you'll be motivated to keep playing. And whether or not you enjoyed the difficulty of ascending weapons, a lot of people basically had enough to kill a horse, plus why use the new weapon when you can just use fatebringer?
