The theory is that The ahamkara, and the worms are connected somehow. For example, on all the ahamkara gear there's a description that ends in "Oh bearer mine". Well in Calcified fragment V the last two paragraphs say: "1. It was my fathers familiar. I ripped it from him as we fled. It is a dead white thing, segmented, washed up from the deep sea." Talking about the worm that their father had. "2. It's dead, but it still speaks to me. It says: Listen closely, oh vengeance mine..." And in XII "Out of the deep" in the last sentence: "Reality is a fine flesh, oh general ours, let us feast of it." That phrase is used by the worms a few more times in the grim, but I don't remember where. I see a connection, I just don't know what to make of it...
Also, anon pig has some great Theories on the ahamkara. Check out some of his post and maybe this will tie into it somehow?
