This is the answer... Because they don't want you to. They don't want you to have maxed out weapons and gear you've already obtained because that means you won't spend as much timing grinding for the new stuff. It really is that simple.

    And it's not even true, because I would [i]still[/i] need to grind for top-tier gear to Infuse my old stuff, just like for everything else in Year 2. :P

  • But you're missing the important part... you have those weapons already. Now you have to grind for new weapons and grind to infuse. That first step is a huge time sink.
