With all the Sunbreaker haters out there, I wanna see what Titan mains have to say about their subclass.
y'know, i just remembered that curiosity did kill the cat
Edit: 50+ replies, keep 'em coming! The majority of you call for a slight armor nerf so more snipers and a GG shot can one shot it, which is pretty resonable.
Edit 2: 100+ replies, let's keep going! Again, a lot of you call for the armor nerf, but I see some movement nerfs or Cauterize nerfs in there as well.
Edit 3: Over 650 replies, holy crap. Again, as usual, armor nerfs take prevalence over all other suggestions. And to all not Titan mains, please revite accurately as to not screw with the poll. I seriously doubt less than 20% of voters are not Titan mains.
Edit 4: STAP BLOWING UP MY PHONE PLZ
But seriously, I'm glad to see so many people in this usually salty as -blam!- community being so positive and having polite debates. Shows we have hope for a few more years.
Edit 5: Over 1,000 replies! Woot.
Armor takes prevalance yet again, but some more movement speed during super nerfs have popped up here and there. Keep commenting guys!

I think that it needs a major overhaul. So that the class is useful on its own and not all the perks revolve around the super.
-
Where the "add armour and extend hammer of sol duration" option?

Edited by xlr8huwfred: 10/18/2015 10:10:15 AMSo many super defensive Titans trying to save their broken thing. FFS guys it's a

small

nerf needed
-
Titan main here. I think hammers should be buffed.
-
Just make them have less armour when supers are active.
-
No nerf needed. It's perfect in pve. And only 10% of players play pvp so stop nerfing stuff for them. It's getting ridiculous.
-
I seriously contend it isn't overpowered and can be taken out with adequate team play (all game types outside of rumble are team based) but if you're going to nerf anything it has to be armor. Nerfing cauterize would cripple it due to travel time of hammers.
-
Armor reduction. That's all.
-
After getting pummeled by Nova bomb and blade dancer for months on end it's about time the Titans got their peice of the op super pie.
-
Edited by x813 Kris Rollzz: 10/18/2015 9:50:18 AMAs a Titan main, the super is ridiculous. If this was a PC game, I'd call it faceroll. It's so easy to rack up a ridiculous amount of kills with it. Shadow shot doesn't even stop it on impact...? It desperately needs the damage reduction to e cut down
-
Edited by Jimbo_024: 10/18/2015 9:50:47 AMI think the perfect nerf would be to have the hammers travel slower. Makes them easier to dodge in pvp, will have very little effect in pve. If you can dodge the hammers, they have to throw more and will get less kills and will run out of super quicker. Perfect solution IMHO. Edit: didn't know 80 percent of the community main'd titans lol

While I've decided to focus on my Warlock a bit more following TTK's release, my Titan is and always has been my main. And, while its a lot of fun, there's no doubt we need a slight nerf. 4 or 5 hammers is plenty. I don't mind the armour increase, it's the amount of hammers as they one shot kill. That said, it IS fun now Titan's can compete on the super front...
-
I've mained a Titan from day one and love them to bits, I think the shield on hammer of sol could do with a tiny nerf, not much though
-
Edited by arosa-gti: 10/18/2015 9:38:33 AMThe "No titan main" option should be around a 75%, it just shows how desperate the hunters/locks are, anyways I feel them ;) Armor decrease pleasee.
-
How about 3-4 hammers kind of like GG. Health regent and high armors alright. I think super abilities having low armor is kind of stupid anyways
-
The armor boost should go down. Maybe until it's as high as radiant skin warlock.
-
My fellow 27%.... I can't agree any more. We finally get the op, aggressive crucible super and get to stomp all over hunters with them fancy supers and warlocks with their self rez. #27percentforlife Let's continue this steamroll of salt in the crucible!
-
I'd be happy with a little nerf with their over shield. But for this to work some sort of nerf would need implementing to the warlock. Although the titan is taking all the overpowered glory the warlock is right on his backside
-
Nerf the armour slightly and make it a one shot headshot with a sniper
-
Chance of health regen instead of every kill. And probably nerf the armor down to about 30-40% instead of 60
-
I have been one shot by gg, so I don't get the whole thing about how no one can kill a sunbreaker. There are basically two strategies for handling them. Run away or your team starts shooting them at the same time. I play sunbreaker in the IB but overall don't care for it.
-
The armor could use a slight nerf. Just enough for a sniper or gg at least. If anything it will at lead get ppl to shut the hell up about it. Other than that the thing is fine. Players will exagerate and say "OMG YOU GUYS GET LIKE 5-6 KILLS EVERY TIME YOU USE IT ITS SO OP" but it's more like "HAMMER TI- UH WAIT WHERE IS EVERYBODY!?!"
-
I believe if you make cauterize only proc on melee and grenade kills then it will be fine. As much as I don't want to see it go, probably the only reasonable nerf I see that could work.
-
27% of Titans are idiots.
-
I think super times should be cut down alot. They can be op but shouldn't last long. The better the super the shorter it is. Nothing like playing the iron banner die to a super then spawn next to the guy with same super. Storm trance and hammer shouldn't last as long as they do.

I mained a Titan for the first year of Destiny, but played both other classes, too. So I do know the differences between each. From my experience fighting Sunbreakers and from my friends that use them, there're a few things that could be done to bring it back in line with the other subclasses. 1. a) Health Regeneration should refill the their health bar a lot slower than it currently does. This would effectively make the Titan think about where he's going, how many enemies there are and if there's any cover. As it stands, they currently have little to no regard for their safety or health because one HoS will fully heal them from any damage taken. 1. b) I've seen people complain that the Cauterise perk giving them full health on everything, including melee. This shouldn't be changed in my opinion. Titans have the shortest range melee as it is, regeneration of health after a melee kill is perfectly acceptable taking into account the other classes melees and melee perks. 2. The amount of damage resistance they have whilst in their Super is more than any other class. Mix that with the health regeneration after a kill and you've got a massively over-powered opponent considering how easy it is to get a kill with HoS. Damage resistance should be reduced, even if this is the only thing that happens. I can deal with the health regen if I had a chance at killing him before or after he kills. (What I'm proposing for 3 is either one to be fully addressed, or a mix of them) 3. a) "The amount of Hammers they can throw seems unfair compared to Golden Gun", now I can understand why some people are saying this, but I don't agree with them. The difference is that GG is an instant hit-scan shot that can be done from a huge distance pretty easily. HoS require the user to at least aim and throw the Hammer in the general direction. 3. b) The problem with the Hammer after it has been thrown is that it has a proximity detonation, which can be used in conjunction with tracking. I think only one should be enabled at any one time, or the proximity needs to be lowered (there have been times that I've managed to evade a HoS user, only for his Hammer to come flying past the object I've ran behind, exploding due to proximity and killing me. You don't see GG shots going around corners, or Stormcaller Lightning going around corners directly (if the Lightning chains from another player, that doesn't count)) 3. c) In order to separate HoS from GG, the Hammers could be made so that they're not so easy to throw at a large distance. The arc could be harder to judge, or possible have them do less damage at large distances. Now, these are just suggestions. I'm not asking for a nerf, but if one happens, I'd like for some of these points to be taken into consideration. If you have anything to add, feel free to comment. If you disagree, again, feel free to comment which part you disagree with and why.
