I was re-reading through the Books of Sorrow, and I got an idea for a new rotating Crucible mode.
The mode would be Free-For-All, with six or eight players. The main mechanic is that you need to keep killing.
You'd spawn in with full health and abilities and such, (obviously not supers), but as time went on your health would slowly decrease, your abilities would charge up slower, and your movement speed would decrease.
If you got a kill your stats would return to normal, and you'd keep going. Supers wouldn't charge with time, only kills will charge them. The scoring mechanics would be closer to Elimination, where if you die you don't respawn, but here's the twist: Instead of dying and being dead, you'd have three lives, so you'd be able to respawn three times, not unlike classic Mario game life systems.
If you're the last one alive, you win the round. There would be like three-five rounds. Whatever would be fit, seeing as this could run long.
If the timer ran out, it would go into overtime and the remaining contestant would either (A) be brought down to one life, (B) have their life decrease faster, or even (C), both.
So, that's my game mode idea! What do you guys think? Give this post a bump if you like it! Leave a comment if you have an idea or suggestion, I'd love to hear some renditions and criticism!
EDIT: That's Xürrific brought up a good point, the fact that people just camping around, even with the overtime timer, would be bad. So, a new idea is that staying put for too long will start to speed up your health loss.
