Del Fino Space: Geosynchronous Orbit
Whilst the rest of the crew bickered and fought amongst themselves, Ginger had taken the time to attempt something useful: rescuing Phantom. The two had certainly gone through a few bumps in the road, but in the end, they were a team; family, even. And Matthew Hallwinter would be damned if anything happened to his family.
The massive Del Fino ship would have undoubtably detected the hyperspace rupture [admittedly he preferred using slipspace, but this was all part of the plan], and even if they hadn't they would have seen him return to real-space, but luckily he had appeared out of their range. He knew that even with cloaking, he couldn't get close enough to the ship to phase aboard... Unless he did what he planned to do, which left him with literal nanoseconds to react.
Yep. Another brilliant scheme with no chance of risk...
He quickly triangulated Phantom's position using bootlegged Genesis Comms [he would pay for that later], and then proceeded to activate the hyperdrive sequence on the ship, directing himself just over the Del Fino cruiser. As the stars began to fade around him, Ginger locked himself into a focused state, preparing himself for split-second reaction time and for what he would expect on the ship... And then he phased.
Del Fino Cruiser: Phantom's Location
In a furious miasma of light, Ginger stumbled into Phantom's location, amazed that he had pulled it off. He took a second to catch his breath, and looked up to see what he faced.

Ginger found himself in Cell made mostly of a dull black metal; Adamant He looked towards the wall adjacent of the Stasis Field, and saw him: Phantom Or what remained. His armor was all but destroyed, with cracks and breaks covering it His torso was in shreds , a large gash across his stomach, stained in black His arms looked as if they were useless, his minute-cybernetics sparking from the cuts He looked up, scratches across his face Finally.... Thought you'd... never get here...
-
Ginger had actually predicted a similar outcome [Phantom had a knack of getting in trouble], and quickly flared his shields, EMPing the shield wall and deactivating it. He then briskly walked over to Phantom and looked over his injuries. Though he had admittedly looked over a few Genesis blueprints, he had no inkling as to how to repair one. Despite himself, he grinned. "Yeah, I still think I had my priorities straight. You know, getting something to eat before I came here and all that. You... Don't seem like you're in fighting shape, and I don't know how to help you. What can I do?"
-
When released, Phantom collapsed to the floor He slowly got up to on knee Are you kidding...? I've been in worse shape than this... He coughs roughly Alright... Not as bad shape as this.... He holds out his left hand, barely, and a HoloScreen flickers to life Emergency... System Diagnostic... Systems Critically Damaged Bacta-Treatment Needed Perfect. Initiate Field Repairs Systems to Dama- Do the bet you can! Initiating..... Combat Readiness at 37% It's enough... He stands up, and the Systems that still function on his armor flicker to life, and starts to repair some parts of itself
-
Ginger extends a hand out, so that Phantom can stabilize himself. He doesn't look worried, but he obviously isn't confident of your ability "Uh... Hell, you do look pretty bad. I won't doubt your combat ability, even now, but try to stay out of trouble. Please?"
-
Now Ginger.... You know that's the one thing I'm best at... He smirks before turning towards the exit Since you teleported in here, I assume Python and the others were delayed?
-
He shakes his head, accidentally messing up his hair. He looks a little more haggard than when you last saw him; with stubble around his chin and unkempt hair, but it's likely of no concern. His armor has clearly been upgraded (too lazy to describe it, but you can see it in an earlier post), which gives him an almost regal appearance. "Actually, I don't know where they are. I've been working on a few personal vendettas recently, so I haven't been able to keep in touch. Oh, and you're probably wondering if we have an escape plan... I'm wondering too. Let's get to the hangar." He follows you out the exit, armed and armored.
-
He shakes his head as they walk We can't leave until we make sure the Dread are stopped. He pulls up a HoloMap The center of this Ship controls the Warp that their Fleet is coming through. We shut that down, and they all get sent back. Permanently.
-
Edited by Spyglass: 10/18/2015 4:47:12 PMGinger updates his HUD and the Tac-Pad on his gauntlet with the Holo-Map of the ship. "Sounds... Fun. It's been a while since I've been in the field, but given your state, I should probably take point. I know where to go." He takes a left down the corridor and begins running towards the center of the cruiser.
-
Phantom runs after him We should try to meet up if we can. Might need the strength.
-
He looks back at you over his shoulder, almost running into a Dread soldier as he does so. "Meet up with who? Is there anyone else on this ship?" He quickly boosts, aiming the point of his shoulder at the Dread's midriff. The soldier is slammed into the wall, with a broken spine and a shattered skull.
-
Edited by Bardo XCIX: 10/18/2015 4:56:29 PMPython and the others. He stops and takes the gun the soldier was holding They're on the Ship by now.
-
Edited by Spyglass: 10/18/2015 5:02:06 PM"They're here? And they didn't even invite me..." He stops, an impressive antimatter rifle appearing in his hand. He tosses you a small pistol, and continues on his way.
-
He catches it Before you made your grand entrance, they were on their way... He holsters the pistol
-
He kicks a solid durasteel door, completely shattering it. He gestures for you to go through first. "Well, still got here first. I'm just that good."
-
Uh-Huh.... He walks through The room they enter looks to be a Control Room Perfect... Give a minute while I access the Ship's files. He walks up to a data terminal and holds out his left hand A HoloScreen appears and data flows across it
-
The familiar purr of HardLight fire is heard outside, and Ginger looks at you before he heads out to defend the room. The Holo displays on the room can be seen reflected off of his armor, and for a second he radiates pure light. He gives you a emphatic nod, and leaves to fight the Dread. Sickening crunching sounds are heard, even from afar.
-
Let's see... He starts to scan the data stream Mass Transit.... Invasion Force.... Warp... Found it. When he looks over the data, he sadly smiles and shakes his head That's how it's gonna be, Eh? Fine. He closes the HoloScreen Ginger, C'mon!
-
Rather than use his comms (which were jammed), he yells out to you over the gunfire. There seems to be far less of the whirring HardLight rifles, and the sleek boom of the Gauss Rifle sounds out less and less. "Where are we heading? Shouldn't we wait for the rest of the team to join us?"
-
If you want to wait, well wait. Thought you'd want to get away from the Dread though.
-
"Are you kidding? This is the most fun I've had in weeks?" Ginger's voice has a familiar sadistic tinge to it, as if he's gone into a trance-like state. A quick glance outside reveals the bodies of nearly a hundred Dread soldiers, scattered about like a demonic child's painting. Ginger stands in the midst of it, fighting in hand to hand combat almost too quickly to be observed, literally tearing apart the incoming forces. [think of a Kryptonian from Man of Steel. He's like that]
-
Fine, Fine. Just don't over do it.
-
Ginger doesn't seem to hear you until after he's done toying with the Dread Commander. He allows the soldier to cut him with the HardLight axe, and then rips it out of his hands and tackles the soldier. Ginger rips of the Dread's mask, and goes to work, his body concealing what damage he did, though the sound of breaking bones could still be heard. Without looking up, he responds. "Alright, let's go. I've been too long."
-
Yes, Sir. He does a mock salute and begins running in the direction of the Command Hub
-
Ginger maintains pace behind him. "So, the Command Hub... What are we going to do there?"
-
Close the massive Warp that they're force is coming through.
New Post
