Three of coins are a waste
I spent a lot of time and coins on the three of coins. In total I think I got like 30. I used them all and I only got 3 exotics. Every time I used one, I would make sure that I waited at least 15 to 20 minutes. I got a gauntlet engram. I was excited to turn that one in because I was 307 and I knew the item would be 310. When I turned it in I got a fvcking 290 exotic. Could someone explain to me why I got a 290 exotic if I'm 307? By the way, I should mention that I got it from that super knight on the dreadnaught. So if that effected the exotic to be 290 instead 310.

It is not guaranteed to be 310. Once you reach 300+ you have a chance for it to be 310 not guaranteed

I always get an engram at about 1 in 5 strikes pace.

6 RepliesThe light of the exotic is influenced by all 3 characters you have. If you have one character above 300, you have a 1/3 chance to receive a 310 exotic. Two characters above 300 = 2/3 chance. All 3 characters means all exotics drop at 310. Hope that helps.

my hunter isn't allowed anymore coins. I don't know what the hell he does with them but he gets absolutely nothing. He averages about 1 in 15 when everyone else is 1 in 5

1. It is not guaranteed to be 310. 2. 1 exotic engram in 10 coins translates to 1 exotic per 14 strange coins. That is still better than buying from Xur. 3. Do you realize that before 3oC, the chances of getting an exotic were slim to none?

I used ten today so far and got zero drops. I used to have a much better drop rate. So who knows.

1 ReplyActually their not a waste. An armor piace cost 13 coins from xur. If the average drop rate is 15-10 three of coins then thats 21 strange coins. Funny thing happens to be that reaching from primary to armor their all within 13-21 strange coins. With more effort three of coins is a way to get an exotic xur isnt selling.

21 RepliesMost people get one exotic every 5 or so three of coins. If that isn't happening to you you're lying or doing it wrong.

Edited by GiZZiLLa: 10/18/2015 7:23:22 PMI used 6 exotic engrams yesterday. 3 out of the 6 turned into 310 exotics while the rest turned into 290. Not sure why since all my characters were above 300 when I turned them in. Pretty frustrating actually. All of my engrams came from farming Draksis.

I've found my best success with 3OC to not set out to use them but simply play the game and use them when the opportunity arises. Messing around on the dreadnought today in the span of about an hour and a half I used probably 4 during C.O.O tier 3s (no success there), 3 during the Hive/Cabal champion fights in the Hull Breach and got an exotic helm from one and a gauntlet from another, and used one while doing the agnorach (sp) rune on the zealot and got another exotic helm. I'd say I average roughly one engram per 5-6 3 of coins, but I will say that at least 60% - 70% of the drops are armor, not weapons. Don't know if this is the case with everyone else or not.

So for every 10 you've got 1 exotic. That's not bad. Exotics never dropped as engrams before. Just accept the fact we're lucky this even happens and go cry me a fukking river. Spoilt shit

i got like 15-16 engrams out of 80 3oC by doing heroic and lv36 strikes... yes, i did tooonesss of strikes..
