Why nerfing Gjallarhorn might not be as bad if not good

I know, I am going to get a lot of mean looks and voodoo curses for saying this, but I think nerfing Gjallarhorn is a good choice. For once not all Recruitment posts will be "G-horn needed". Now hear for my reasoning. First, no matter the nerf to Wolfpack Rounds, the fact G-horn posses the extra damage means it will outclass any rocket launcher anyway. It still will be the summit of RPGs and it will still blow through stuff like the beginning of Ragnarok (and yes, I just made a failed attempt at making a smart joke. Hopefully someone will get it). Second, it will compel players to use any other exotic of their choice, no longer feeling restricted to one gun and only it. It will introduce player-weapon diversity, no longer being a crutch. It will remain effective nonetheless, highly effective. It will continue to outdamage other exotics in the short-run during boss fights, if that is what suits your exotic needs. That is its job, not being the be all, end all weapon. -------------------- Now may you cast your curse upon me, I don't mind or care, but I hope that it is because of my "joke" and not out of spite for me thinking this way.

  • I understand your point of view, but I wish that Bungie would have at least done the courtesy of giving the G-horn a Year 2 version for the more meager activities. This is because the Raid in particular does NOT necessitate the use of rocket launchers in the same way CE and VoG did. In fact, sniper rifles are much preferred for Golgoroth, the Sisters, and Oryx.
