My major concern is that they have it like this on purpose. That they saw the demand for Year 1 Ascension, the appeal of Etheric Light and how happy it made everyone, and did that on purpose to give everyone a taste and or see just how the community would react to it with House of Wolves. ALL FOR THE PURPOSE OF SELLING SUCH THINGS IN THE CASH SHOP.
THAT is my greatest concern. Because the lack of customization and weapon/armor diversity has been a problem since Day 1. If they allowed players to keep upgrading their Year 1 stuff, it would add a HUGE amount of variation and choice for unique combinations.
And this Cash Shop is their big thing now for Year 2. Activision wants it to be successful, and they're already talking about how its going to offer cosmetic items. What a lot of folks don't realize is that for everything that they put into this Eververse Trading Company? That's content that is being kept out of the game that they already spent money on. Its more money for less content.
They are going to look to put things in that shop that they KNOW people want. And if they really do put in like Etheric Light 2.0 or something and expect us to pay real money for that shit? Then I refuse, I will sell the game in a heartbeat and just wash my hands of it for good.
