The Serpent, II
Midnight's Reach, Ishtar Sink, Venus.
Kliniss waited on a Fallen platform nestled into the cliffside of his lair. The wind was bitter and nipped at his flesh, but he did not care. He was waiting for his prize: the Hunter La'haar Malphur. He waited for what seemed like hours, before the Skiff adorned with the insignia of the House of Night arrived. A distinctly humanoid figure was teleported to the platform via transmat, and four Vandals followed. They prevented the Taken Guardian from moving by holding him at spearpoint. The Kell motioned for them to lower their spears, and they did so, hesitantly. He started towards the entrance to the lair, and the guards prodded the Hunter along. Neither the Eliksni nor the Taken spoke, not until they reached Kliniss's lab. The guards pushed La'haar towards a holding cell, and he smirked. "I hope you don't expect me to get in there." The Hunter began to manifest his Taken powers, but the guards forced him into the cell, which suppressed his power. "Your wits cannot save you now Hunter. You are my prize," The Kell pushed up the Hunter's chin with his finger, inspecting him, "and I shall study you until I understand the power the King has gifted you." The Kell left the room, but the Vandals remained vigilant. They knew that if they failed their Kell, they would become his next experiment.
