Ha the anime snobs will hate you for that, even though SAO is in fact a really good anime. They just want to hate on SAO because it's the "cool" thing to do.

No, people hate it because of the plot holes( aka. Timeskips) and stereotypical characters. Literally every character seems like a cardboard cut out. Gun gale online was a little better, but not by much.

second arc of first season is literally shit. villian is the worst character ever written. suguha is such an irrevelant character and only exists for fanservice. the anime doesn't really focus on kiritos and asunas relationship as much as the first arc of the first season. second season is just not as enjoyable as the first arc of the first season. the plot isn't really exciting at all

I thought the first half of the first season and the Yuki arc of the second season were terrific. The fairy part was kind of bland up until the last big battle (and a little creepy with his sister falling for him). GGO was ok, though it didn't really make sense for them to send a kid in for a criminal investigation. Action there was the far better part of that arc. And the remaining part did feel a little meandering until it got to Yuki.

I disagree with you. I found all of it very enjoyable. I wouldn't say best ever, but it's great.
