[b]10 Years Prior:[/b] [i]Axion Cruiser:// War Room[/i] Ginger stood at the podium, still bearing the scars he had been dealt the previous day. Behind him stood holographic projections of Phantom, Python, Murph, and A'Karo, life-sized and colored. He cleared his throat, mostly a result of habit than necessity, and then spoke. "Today we honor the friends, comrades, and brothers who we lost to the howling dark; August Phantyme, Python, Murph, and A'Karo. In the face of impossible odds, they have their last so that we, and the rest of the Galaxy, could live in peace, and their commitment to duty should truly inspire us all. You know, it was August that made me realize this fact, about being a hero. In stories, heroes often have the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Save the land, die with honor, all that shit. But the hero never learns if his sacrifice accomplished everything, and he'll never know if his death was for nought." He pauses, and opens his mouth as if to say something else, but something dawns upon him. He bows his head for a second, but when it eventually rises his eyes blaze with anger. "But this isn't a goddamn story." With that, he storms off, leaving what remained of the crew to their own devices. For many, it would be the last time they ever saw his face.
