I believe he is there purely for hardware acquisition. Clearly, as the Weapon in question is mainly non-faction related in the first place, giving them charity in exchange for knowledge of how to obtain an exotic weapon is acceptable. As long as he is still loyal to us in truth, It is acceptable.
