It isn't just Paradox or Sleeper Simulant. It is also the exotic sword quest. Go pull resource nodes and get elemental ability kills. Totally not a gigantic time sink. Then wait for Arms Day. Why? To limit your ability to advance too quickly. This stretches a limited amount of content.

  • This is how EVERY game like this does it. Take a look at weekly lockouts, its to spread the content out. People say have more content, problem is that DOESNT fix the problem. SWTOR had 100-1000 times more content, yet people where complaining week 2 there was nothing to do. If you dont timegate content people will blow through it as fast as possible and then complain.

  • Destiny doesn't have enough content with everything we have to afford timegated content either. They completely made the other two raids pointless to do unless you wanna get motes of light or you need to do this recent timegated quest to kill Atheon. They wiped pretty much all the end game content before TTK to being pointless to do, where TTK should've just added to the endgame stuff to do. This timegate is to unnaturally keep Destiny alive because if we had everything like in vanilla release we would forsure have left Destiny behind already. The difference here is TTK has just as much as Vanilla Destiny but there are items we can't get until the Time Gate is lifted for said items. This means you pretty much already done everything TTK has offered expect get all the weapons and armor in TTK. Also this is designed to keep us here until Destiny 2 release of next year.

  • Welcome to how EVERY MMO in history has done things. People continually refuse to admit that Destiny follows more MMO mechanics than any other game. If people simply looked at it through the MMO lense then they would realize that this is all par for the course. As I said in another thread SWTOR had 100-1000 times more content and no timegates. People where complaining of to little content week 2. Point is that there is no amount of content that will fix this problem.

  • Repeating what other people say is pointless, I been down this line of logic of yours and that logic is flawed. Do you not realize that Destiny doesn't have enough content in it to make other content obsolete or are you just mentally ill? With the knowledge that Destiny 2 is coming next year, wouldn't it have been smart to just let us keep everything and just time gate the upgrading process for year 1 stuff like how they timegated reforging exotic armor. The difference between Destiny and other MMOs is that other MMOs actually had content, too much content so the cutting of older endgame content was to really just help out the newer players to get to the new endgame quicker. I am sure if they had lacked content as much as Destiny does they wouldn't have made content pointless when adding more content. FF14 Realm Reborn is perfect example for this, instead of cutting content they made the older content easier to beat as they add new endgame stuff. So instead of skipping content you just fly through it.
