It's better than hoping to get one in a drop. Ever heard of Gjallarhorn?

Edited by Is__Endless: 10/21/2015 9:40:13 PMThat's not true. Some people got Gjallarhorn really fast. That's because of RNG. However, you can make exotic quests that are not time-gated. Time-gating is not better than RNG. It's just as bad. When I got my Thorn bounty, I didn't have to wait 3 weeks to complete the next step. That's the way it should be. You start the quest and complete it on your own terms with visible progress. It should not be "Hey, we choose when you get to move on." Some of us have lives. Edit: Just so you know, I'm not saying that acquiring the Thorn bounty itself wasn't RNG. I'm saying that the Thorn bounty was acquired with all of its steps and you could complete them whenever you wanted to.

You had every chance to do the quest a week ago. It's plastered all over the forums. Anytime someone finds a bonus objective to the daily, do it. More than likely it will turn out to be an exotic quest line.
You had every chance to do the quest a week ago.
My response to this was posted prior to you posting because I can tell the future:
Some of us have lives.
Some of us did not have a chance. Real life happens. Some of us are young adults who have things that are necessary to do.

I didn't do it either, because of time constraints. But I'm not crying about it. Hopefully I'll get it next time. Probably not though, since I'll be gone all next week for work. Just deal with it man, it's just a game.

*sigh* You're missing the point. Nobody is crying about anything.

YES. THANK YOU. I'm so sick of everyone calling people whiners and crybabies on these forums as a defense.

Actually, the OP is full of tears.

No. He's simply annoyed. How is it a "quest step" to wait a week or two? The worst part is that players who pick up the game today will not technically be time-gated when it comes to Sleeper Simulant. They will collect the Dvalin pieces and progress almost normally. That's why this is annoying. It's not a quest step. It's Bungie being too lazy to create new content that isn't directly influenced by things we already did. The OP isn't crying.
