Rasputin may have still attacked the Traveler, but not because it was leaving. Maybe Rasputin inferred it would leave, but he made a mistake

I think that's right. Rasputin was scared (can warminds be scared?) that it would leave us like The Fallen. Attacked it to keep it from leaving even though it didn't want to go to begin with.

Of course a warmind can be scared. It is more complex than even the rest of the universe.
