Well the traveler isn't evil..... at least to us.
To the hive the traveler is evil and not because it's light. From what I've gotten from the book of sorrows the traveler was originally with the hive but lady them because of some massive wave or something..... long story short the hive hunt it's for revenge..... for not saving them.... and leaving them to die.
