I'm a female and could care less if I get treated poorly. Bite me and I'll bite back. Girls aren't the only people who get treated poorly. There's racist comments being tossed all over the place and boys get beat down by others for other reasons. Do you see them whining? This is why I can't stand the victim card. So frequently female gamers try to pull this victimizing bullcrap only proving how sensitive we're so known to be. It's the internet, why do you care if some guy tells you to go make a sandwich? Just respond with a witty, sarcastic comment and move on. The internet isn't a friendly place for anybody.
And I'm aggressive towards other people do you think male gamers are tired of my bitchiness? No. They brush it off because honestly nobody cares.
Gender doesn't define you as a gamer. That's why whenever I see a girl title themselves "gamergirl." I want to kick them in the vagina so hard they bleed for another 7 days.

Someone who understands how the victim card is damaging to equality! I don't like to think of these problems as "sexism", "racism" or "homophobia", there are jerks and scum bags in this world and some of them happen to play video games. The whole gamergate nonsense really hurt me as someone who works in the games industry, I felt as if we were the ones being blamed for creating the situation... which really is unfair. I found myself feeling I had to tread more lightly around my female colleagues at work which just made it socially awkward =/
